Pet Owners
Pet Rules
  1. Owners are responsible for all damages caused by pets. Changes are as follows:
    Soiling Carpet - $50.00 each soil
    Tearing carpet - $50.00 each spot
    Scratching Doors - $50.00 min. per door
    Scratching Tub Finish - $50.00 min.
  2. Pets are not allowed in pool. (SC State Law). Charge - $100
  3. It is MANDATORY to IMMEDIATELY pick up after your pet during their walks.
    Staff Cleanup - $50.00 charge (per clean up).
    A. The green pet septic tank (located next to the 3rd palm tree from office) is the ONLY place on the property that you can dispose of pet waste. To use pet waste disposal:
    1. Step on foot pedal of green tank. Dispose of pet waste. Put paper or plastic in garbage can.
    2. PAPER AND/OR PLASTIC - GARBAGE CAN ONLY.
      PET WASTE - GREEN DISPOSAL ONLY.
    3. Pet area monitored by 24 hour video surveillance.
    B. Pets may not relieve themselves on paved or concrete surfaces.
  4. If dog barks when left alone, you must take pet with you! Your pet may not disturb other guests! You may leave non-barking pets alone for very short intervals only!
  5. Pets must be on a leash at all times. Pets not allowed on motel bedding.
  6. Please do not leave pets unattended on balconies.
  7. The shower for rinsing your pet is located at either side of oceanfront building. Please make certain your pet is dry and sand free before entering your room. No bathing pets in tubs in rooms as they scratch the tub finish.
  8. Management reserves the right to require guests causing a disturbance or violation to leave without refund of room payment or pet deposit.
  9. Maid service will be between 10am and 1pm. If you do not have a carrier for your pet, please stay with your pet while the maid is in the room.
  10. Pets allowed on the beach anytime except during the summer season when their time is limited as follows:
    May 15 - Sept 15: Before 9am and after 5pm
  11. Upon arrival and check-in at the Sportsman Motor Inn, you are required to read the above regulations and supply a signature confirming your understanding of them. By your signature, you do hereby indemnify, hold harmless, and release the Sportsman Motor Inn of any liability of any nature that your pet may cause during your stay at the Sportsman Motor Inn.

Barc Park

Located on the former air force base at the south end of Myrtle Beach, just 2 miles from The Sportsman Motor Inn is South Carolina's first public dog park named "Barc Park". It's 11 acres of dog heaven. Barc Park includes a large, dog fountain with a shower, several dog structures for training, pooper-scoopers, benches and of course a fire hydrant. The park is totally fenced with two separate areas joined by an entrance gate. It's the only area in the city limits of Myrtle Beach that your dog is allowed to be unleashed.

To get to the Barc Park, turn into the former AFB from Kings Highway and take a left at "Mallard Lake Drive". The park is the fenced in area on your left about 200 yards after you turn. Barc Park is owned and operated by the City of Myrtle Beach.
